Eisteddfod Castle Competition…Advanced notice that one of the Eisteddfod competitions we will be asking the children to take part in this year is to build a model castle. This may be something that they undertake over the half term holiday. All entries need to be labelled with the child’s name and class.

Pupil Absence…Thank you to the large majority of parents who remember to contact the school either via telephone or through a note to inform us about their child’s absence from school. This helps us to keep our records up-to-date, to monitor attendance and raise any concerns where necessary. It is very important that children attend school regularly as pupil absence has been proven to have a significant negative impact on children’s learning. The school has a statutory duty to monitor attendance and take action where it has concerns. As part of this process we are introducing a system where we will be contacting parents where there are concerns over their child’s attendance. We will then work with parents to improve the situation.
