Beast Creator!


Years 5 and 6 have been developing their skills in literacy, numeracy and problem solving by designing genetically modified insects to deal with an imaginary plague of aphids! What do you think of their designs?

Residential Trip Meetings
As in previous years we are organising visits to Stackpole with Year 5 and London with Year 6. In addition, we are also planning a one night residential stay for Year 4 at the Dan y Wenallt outdoor centre run by the Brecon Beacons National Park. This is part of the National Park Ambassador Schools Programme, of which we are a lead school. We have arranged the following meetings for parents to let you know more about the visits and answer any queries:
Year 6 - London meeting Monday 3rd Nov
Year 5 - Stackpole meeting Monday 10th Nov
Year 4 - Dan y Wenallt meeting Monday 24th Nov

All meetings will take place at 5pm in the school.

Coffee Morning
Year 6 organised a very successful coffee morning on Friday in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you to all of you that turned up to support the children and this good cause. The event raised
a total of £230 for the charity.

Book Fair
Book fair is open to parents in the canteen on Thursday 9th, Friday 10th and Monday 13th after
school. Volunteers needed for the Thursday slot 2pm – 4pm.

School Photos
All Colorfoto orders need to be returned to school by Friday 10th October.

Tubs for Tablets
The school is taking part in the Tesco ‘Tubs for Tablets’ scheme. We are collecting the special
tokens on Flora and Stork margarine tubs to exchange for Samsung Galaxy tablets for the school.

After School Clubs
Please ensure that you are on time to collect your child at the end of after school clubs as staff often
