Local Councillor visits Year 5&6

As part of our Bend and Flow topic we have been writing letters to the local council to express our concerns over building houses in Bullpit Meadow. The children were given a proposed plan to read and express their opinions. They had the opportunity to share these views with a local councillor, David Williams.

After the passionate discussion, we let the children know the plans were not real, but their views would be passed on to the council as the future generation of Crickhowell.

A fantastic morning with some excellent literacy skills applied to a real life situation.

Reminder.....Year 5 & 6 visit to Bullpit Meadow

Tomorrow afternoon Year 5 & 6 will be visiting Bullpit Meadow with Brecon Beacons National Park staff.

Please send in walking boots or wellies with thick socks and a waterproof coat.

We will be back before the end of the day.

Thank you to Luna's Mum! Yummy tapas!

Luna's Mum and Grandparents joined us in class last Friday and told us about traditional Spanish food. Luna's Mum brought food for us to try too. It was delicious! Muchos gracias!

Netball Tournament Brecon

So far, so good.

Our year 6 team have been playing all day and have won every game so far.

Well done girls. Excellent team work and play, coached and organised by 'Coach Kate'. You were all a credit to the school, your parents and most importantly yourselves.

Crickhowell are through to the final in April.

Thanks for the continued support from parents for transporting the children and special thanks to Kate for working so hard with the club every week.
