New Outdoor Classroom

Our new outdoor classroom is in place and ready to be used in the new term. Many thanks to the Brecon Beacons Trust and the Percy Davies Trust who have jointly funded this project but also to Dean Logan for laying the foundations, Adrian Cook for handling the planning issues and Heidi Purnell for organising the whole project and making it a reality!

We look forward to seeing it used as another area for learning over the coming months but there is still more to be done. We will be creating a garden area around the new structure and any help that parents and friends of the school can supply with plants and labour would be gratefully received.

Success at Gilwern!

Football

Well done boys. Great play again today.
The B team started the afternoon playing well. They were winning up until seconds before the final whistle. We settled for a draw. 2-2.

The A team held their own and played well again today. Unfortunately they finished 2 down with a final score of 2-0.

Keep playing boys..... We have a great team. Extended thanks to Tom for giving up his time to coach the children.

Netball

Another huge success for both teams today. Both teams looked smart with the new kits, kindly sponsored by Nigel and Amanda Watkins, "Brickfabrication".

The B team started the afternoon off winning with a super score of 19-1! Commendable play, especially from the goal attack and goal shooter, who had a tricky job with posts a lot higher than we are used too. Excellent persistence- it payed off!

The A team played equally as well in a tough match. An extremely competitive game today between two excellent teams. The girls held it together and managed a win. Final score 6-8. Thanks to Coach Kate for all her hard work with the teams and her commitment to the girls every week.

A fantastic team of parents, grand parents and friends to support us too. Thanks for your support this afternoon and for helping transport the children.

Watch this space for dates of other matches.
