    Open DayWe will be holding another Open Day on Wednesday 12th October between 1.30pm and 3pm. This is an opportunity for existing parents, as well as prospective parents, to see the school in action, visit classes as they are taught and chat informally to staff. Please pop in to find out more about the school and how we educate your children!
    Piano LessonsRos Angel, our piano teacher, is now available to take more pupils for lessons on Wednesday afternoons. Ros is willing to teach children from Year 2 onwards. More details can be obtained directly from her on 01874 630131.
    Read, Write, Inc. PhonicsLast week I wrote to you with more details of the implementation of the Read, Write, Inc. Phonics programme which will commence fully on Monday. I can now confirm that the parents’ information session will be held at 3.30pm on Friday 14th October. Many thanks to those of you who have been ensuring the prompt arrival of your children at school in the morning; this does make a huge difference to the smooth running of the school and the effectiveness of the RWI programme in particular.
    Dance ClubHas now moved to a Wednesday to allow the children to attend netball on a Thursday as well as dance.
    Friends and Family AGM…Tuesday 27 September at 6.30pm in the school, all welcome to attend. Further details to follow.
    Sponsored Walk Money…If you took part in the sponsored walk to the top of Table Mountain during the Summer Fete and have not yet sent your sponsor money in, please can you do so as soon as possible!
    New MosaicsWe have four wonderful new mosaics that the children created last term we now need to arrange for them to be mounted on the building and are seeking the help of anyone with appropriate skills to help out: builders, carpenters etc. Our aim is to have them in place by Friday. If you can help please contact Mr Wright or Liz Jenkins.
    Book Fairwill be arriving in school on 27th September. Pupils will have the opportunity to browse with their classes over the following few days and it will be open for parents at certain times (an ideal opportunity for some early Christmas shopping!) Look out for further details.


    The IT for Tomorrow fund now stands at…£14,794!

    With this we have already:

    • Purchased a trolley with 16 laptops
    • Provided new laptops to run each interactive whiteboard in the school
    • Improved the speed of our network
